Missing New Ulm man found after intensive search

NEW ULM -A New Ulm man reported missing at 8 a.m. Wednesday was located shortly before noon at a home three blocks from his residence after an intensive search.

Jon Mark Allee, age 51, who sustained only minor injuries in the incident, walked away from his home at approximately 4 a.m., according to information from the New Ulm Police Department. Police described Allee as a special needs adult.

New Ulm Police, the Brown County Sheriff's Office, and New Ulm Police Reserves began a ground search in the immediate neighborhood near Allee's home about 15 minutes later.

At approximately 9:45 a.m. NUPD coordinated search efforts with the Minnesota State Patrol and its Aviation Unit. Members of the New Ulm Fire Department were also contacted to assist in the search.

The New Ulm Fire Department was used as the command center. Search teams, which included law enforcement officers and fire department members, began searching the core area at 11 a.m. At 11:45 a.m. a search team located Allee in a residence three blocks from his home. Allee was taken to the New Ulm Medical Center for a medical evaluation.
