NEW ULM - Three issues involving the city's airport are on the City Council's agenda for tonight's meeting in the City Hall council chambers, starting at 7 p.m.
Separate public hearings will be held on improvements to the alley in Block 53 south of Center Street, located from 12th to 13th South streets between Minnesota and German streets and a request to vacate 17th South Street from Valley Street to the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad right-of-way
Also on tap for council consideration are the issuance of a Determination of Adequacy for the Final State Environmental Impact Statement for improvements at the airport, the Request for Qualifications Statement for Professional On-Call Airport Engineering and Planning Services and a request that the city begin the property acquisition process necessary to accommodate the Primary Runway Reconstruction Extension Project.
Councilors also will be asked to enact ordinances authorizing the sale of alcoholic beverages in theaters that offer liver performances and establishing the schedule of city fees for 2010.
The sole consent agenda item involves appointing Paul Macho to another year as fire chief of the New Ulm Fire Department, effective Jan. 1, 2010.
