HANSKA Orville Paulson, 75, of Hanska died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 at the Prairie Senior Cottages in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church in rural Hanska with Rev. Aaron Suomala Folkerds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Orville Francis Paulson, the son of Joseph and Alvina (Nundahl) Paulson, was born April 16, 1934 in Lake Hanska Township, Brown County where he spent his youth and grew up on the family farm. He was united in marriage to Marsha Vogelpohl in December 1956. They made their home in Lake Hanska Township where Orville continued his lifelong passion of farming. Orville served several years in the Minnesota National Guard. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and travel. He remained on the farm until this past August when he became a resident of the Prairie Senior Cottages. Orville was a member of Lake Hanska Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his son Jeff Paulson and his wife Gina of Hanska; daughter Jennifer Domeier and her husband Mark of New Ulm; four grandchildren Ryan, Cullen, Vanessa Paulson and Mason Brand; two great-grandchildren Breanna and Taylynn Paulson; father-in-law Victor Vogelpohl of St. Paul; brothers Armand Paulson and his wife Dorothy of Mankato, Luverne Paulson and his wife Margie of Hanska, Dean Paulson and his wife JoAnn of Northfield, Warren Paulson and his wife Kristine of Hanska; sisters Jeanette Nasman and her husband Clarence of LaSalle, Betty Mason and her husband Dean of Little Falls, Joanne Chambard of Washington; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Orville was preceded in death by his wife Marsha, mother-in-law Florence Vogelpohl and his sister Eileen Nyberg.
