New Ulm falls in opener

MANKATO - Mankato West defeated New Ulm 6-0 in nonconference girls hockey action Thursday to open the season for both teams.

Kacie Covington had 40 saves in goal for the Eagles.

New Ulm (0-1) is at St. Paul United Tuesday.
