Parents, school board meet today
NEW ULM - The District 88 Board of Education will meet with parents at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, in the boardroom of the District Administrative Center, at the parents' request.
The board and parents are expected to discuss issues surrounding a two-week penalty imposed on a group of high school students, following the students' removal from a volleyball game on Oct. 22.
Students were prohibited from attending as spectators, or participating in, school or High School Lague events, for (the longer of) two weeks or two contests.
At an earlier meeting with school administrators on Oct. 28, parents expressed discontent over how the incident was handled by the administration, and requested a second meeting.
Administrators at that meeting defended their actions.
