GAYLORD - A 75-year-old rural Winthrop man died Monday afternoon inside a grain bin in Alfsborg Township.

The Sibley County Sheriff's Office received a call at 3:32 p.m. Monday regarding a person reported to be buried under corn in a grain bin.

Emergency medical personnel found Jerry Wannarka dead inside a grain bin on farm located about 7 miles southwest of Gaylord.

The exact cause of death is being investigated by the Sibley County Medical Examiner's Office.

Responding units included the Sibley County Sheriff's Office, Gaylord Ambulance and the Gaylord Fire Department.
