SLEEPY EYE - Ronald W. Hose, 74, of Sleepy Eye died Saturday October 24, 2009, unexpectedly at his home in rural Sleepy Eye.
Service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye on Wednesday, October 28, at 10:30 a.m. The clergy will be Msgr. Eugene Lozinski.
Interment in Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye
Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home - Sleepy Eye, on Tuesday, October 27, from 4-8 p.m. There will be a parish service and rosary at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ron was born in Sleepy Eye to William and Erna Hose on July 31, 1935. He attended Sleepy Eye High School and worked for his dad at the family-owned hardware store. On October 22, 1955, Ron married Veronica "Bonnie" Fischer in Sleepy Eye. Ron continued to operate Hose Hardware until 1991. He was known as a helping and caring man in the community. Ron was currently employed at Mark Thomas Company in Sleepy Eye where he enjoyed working with his fellow employees. He loved fishing, especially his trips to Canada. He also enjoyed working in his woodshop, building and fixing whatever he could. No project was too big or small for him to help his family or friends. He enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren and he will be missed dearly by all.
Ron is survived by his wife Bonnie; sons, Bill and wife Constance of Cottage Grove, Mike and wife Kim of Sleepy Eye, Ed and wife and Judy of Sleepy Eye and Marv and wife Kristi of Lake Crystal; daughters, Mary Johnson of New Ulm and Denise Dawson of Elkhart, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; Will Hose, Chris and Amanda Hose, Jenna and Madeline Hose, Kenzie and Lindsay Hose, Morgin Rasmussen, Ashley and Mallory itzberger and Scott Johnson; one great-grandchild, Casey Hose; and sister Betty Hayes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Erna Hose and sister Joleen Gustner.
