NEW ULM - Pumpkinfest drew a steady crowd late Sunday morning and into the afternoon at the Ron and Karen Domeier farm west of town.
Dain's Dutchmen of Sleepy Eye played polka music while the Narren held hands and danced with children nearby.
Fest-goers ate a variety of food including Happy Joe's Pizza, hot dogs, sauerkraut dogs, bowls of sauerkraut, cookies, donuts, sweet rolls and soft drinks.
Children rolled pumpkins down a long hill in the Domeier pasture and walked through a corn maze.
A haunted corn maze with glow sticks, pizza and popcorn will be held at the Domeier farm, which is located 3 1/2 miles west of New Ulm on County Road 27, from 7-9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 9.
Maze-goers are reminded to bring their own flashlights.
The event was moved ahead a night from past years because the Cathedral Greyhound football team is playing a game on Saturday, Oct. 10.
Proceeds from Pumpkinfest and the Haunted Corn Maze benefited New Ulm Area Catholic Schools (NUACS) classroom technology.
