Springfield sweeps Sleepy Eye, CMC wins

Sleepy Eye 0

SLEEPY EYE - Springfield swept Sleepy Eye 25-12, 25-6, 25-11 in Tomahawk Conference volleyball action Tuesday.

Katie Timm led the way with 11 set assists and Tiana Runck had 10 kills. Stacia Jones was 17-for-19 serving with three aces and Heidi Petersen was a perfect 18-for-18 serving with six aces.

For Sleepy Eye, Sydney Remus had three kills and 11 digs and Trish Roiger had nine digs. Carissa Hillmer had eight set assists and nine digs.

Sleepy Eye (0-11, 0-5) is at the Nicollet Tournament Saturday.

Springfield (7-5-1, 2-3) hosts Sleepy Eye St. Mary's Thursday.

CM/C 3, St. Mary's 0

MORGAN - Cedar Mountain/Comfrey swept Sleepy Eye St. Mary's 25-20, 25-17, 25-19 in Tomahawk Conference volleyball action Tuesday.

St. Mary's was led by Nevada Helget with 17 set assists and was 11-for-12 serving. Ann Berkner had 14 digs and was 14-for-14 serving. Madeline Schmitz had nine kills and eight blocks.

For CM/C, Nicole Kerkhoff had 13 kills and Kayla Mathiowetz had 11 kills. Beth Ochs had 17 set assists and 10 digs. Jessie Reel had 10 assists and 13 digs and Corrie Tews added 20 digs.

The Cougars (7-6, 6-0) are at Buffalo Lake-Hector Tuesday. St. Mary's (3-6, 2-3) is at Springfield Thursday.

BLH 3, Cathedral 2

HECTOR - Buffalo Lake-Hector held on to defeat New Ulm Cathedral 25-16, 15-25, 20-25, 25-14, 15-3 Tuesday in Tomahawk Conference volleyball play.

Lilli Cole had was 18-for-18 serving, had 18 kills and five digs. Remi Werner and Ashley Kiecker each had nine kills. Kiecker added 18 assists and Michaela Wolf had 28 assists.

For Cathedral, Nicole Kalow and Val Lux had six kills. Lux had 19 digs and Lauren Manderfeld had 17 digs and 30 set assists. Kasey Bode added 16 digs and was 23-for-23 serving with an ace. Hayley Hornick was 20-for-22 serving with four aces and finished with 16 digs.

Cathedral is at Minnesota Valley Lutheran Tuesday. BLH is at MVL Thursday.

Wabasso 3, MVL 2

WABASSO - Wabasso defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran 25-17, 19-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-12 in Tomahawk Conference play Tuesday.

Paige Pistulka had 12 kills, seven blocks and six ace serves. Alexis Johnson had 17 digs, 10 kills and four blocks. Jordan Martin had five ace serves, six kills and 11 digs. Mistin Price added 18 digs, Kimberly Frank had 14 assists and Morgan Samyn tallied 20 assists and six aces.

Wabasso (4-4) plays Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thursday in Fairfax.
