SLEEPY EYE - Eleanor (Johnson) Buche, 91, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Friday, September 25, 2009 at Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye on Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM.
Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:30 AM. The Clergy will be Pastor Keith R. Ainsley. Interment Prairieville Cemetery rural Evan, MN.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, MN.

Eleanor Sarah Buche was born on the home farm on May 24, 1918 in Prairieville Township, Brown County, MN, the daughter of Rudolph & Sarah (Hansen) Johnson. She grew up and attended country school. Eleanor was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. She worked at the Sleepy Eye Hospital before marrying Luverne "Vern" Buche on May 15, 1965 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. They lived in New Ulm, rural New Ulm, Courtland and Kilkenny. After Vern's death she moved back home with her sisters and brother. Eleanor enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, crocheting and quilting was her favorite past time. She also liked playing cards.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Violet Johnson of Glencoe, Marian Johnson of Sleepy Eye, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Luverne, brothers, Christ, Wilbert & Lester, sisters, Verna Groff, Mary, Verdina, Mathilda & Hazel Johnson, three brothers in infancy and brother-in-law, Halvor Groff.
