SANBORN - Gladys Leopold, 91, of Sanborn, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Services will be Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn, with burial at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 13, 4-8 p.m. at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield and will continue on Monday, September 14, for one hour prior to services at the church. Condolences may be sent via e-mail to www.sturmfh.com.

Gladys Bertha Leopold was born Oct. 15, 1917, in Redwood County, to William and Amelia (Pankonin) Pooch.

She is survived by her children, Shirley Blackstad of St. James, Marian Rieffer of Sioux Falls, S.D., Ruth Knakmuhs of Westbrook, and Norma Burns of Mankato; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother George Pooch of Lamberton; and sister Jean Halter of Redwood Falls.
