SLEEPY EYE - The Brown County Republican Fun Raiser will take place at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 3, at Sportsman's Park in Sleepy Eye at 6:30 p.m. A dinner featuring barbecued pork, potato salad and fresh fruit will be served.

The event's theme is a tribute to Republican women.

Featured speakers will be Rep. Laura Brod, Sen. Julie Rosen and Lt. Gov. Carol Molnau. Brod and Rosen are currently serving in the State House of Representatives. Molnau is serving her second term as lieutenant governor. In addition, Sen. Dennis Frederickson will give a short tribute to Barb Vickerman, who died several years ago, and Elaine Rupp Harder, both of whom have represented parts of Brown County in the Legislature. Harder will attend the event as will Rep. Paul Torkelson, the current representative from 21-B.

The annual Fun Raiser event is designed to give Republican activists and interested citizens the opportunity to meet and talk with various Republican elected officials and candidates.
