Lloyd V. Olson

GAYLORD - Lloyd V. Olson, 85, of Gaylord, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Norwegian Grove Lutheran Church, Sibley Township, Sibley County, with interment in the church cemetery. Military Rites by the Manthey-Asmus American Legion Post #433.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 10, and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord. Honor Guard provided by The Minnesota Patriot Guard. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Lloyd Vernon Olson was born on Nov. 24, 1923, in Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County, to Frank G. and Agnes (Tullgren) Olson.

Lloyd served in the U.S Air Force in Italy during World War II.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Ruth Olson of Gaylord; children, Gary Olson of Oakdale, Gwendolyn Olson of Sioux Falls, SD, and Greggory Olson of Winthrop; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Rasmussen of Gaylord, and Marion Tollefson of Gaylord; and a brother, Douglas Olson of Winthrop.
