SPRINGFIELD - Rita Kay Halvorson, 72, of Springfield, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m. at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield with burial at the Lamberton Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 8:30 a.m. until time of services at Sturm Funeral Home.

Rita Kay Halvorson was born Oct. 1, 1936, in Valley, NE, to Russell and Janice (Ocander) Armagost.

She is survived by children, Lon Halvorson of Slayton, Larry Halvorson of Clements, Michael Halvorson of Sanborn, Nancy Brown of Geneva, MN, James Halvorson of Geneva, MN, and Thomas Halvorson of Lamberton; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother Gary Armagost of Freemont, NE.
