COURTLAND Albert Woller, 75, of Courtland died Sunday, June 21, 2009 at his home.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 24 at the Courtland Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Melvin Schwark officiating. Burial with full military honors conducted by the Nicollet American Legion Post # 510 will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Albert J. Woller, the son of Albert and Martha (Eitel) Woller, was born January 9, 1934 in Glencoe. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school. Al entered the United States Army in 1954, serving in France for a time. Following his honorable discharge in 1956, he returned to Minnesota. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Schmidt May 26, 1956 at the Courtland Evangelical Lutheran Church. They made their home and raised their family in Courtland their entire married lives. Al drove truck for Minneopa Concrete of Mankato for many years. He continued with the company after it became Superior Concrete, retiring in 1997. Al was a member of the Courtland Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served on the church board and council. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed time spent working in his yard. Al enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren, playing cards with friends and spent many hours working on his tractors.

Survivors include his wife Carrie of Courtland; sons Kevin Woller and his wife Jody of Courtland, Brent Woller and his wife Linda of Courtland; four grandchildren Jessi Woller and her special friend Pat Kemp, Ryan, MaKayla, and Carissa Woller; brother Eddie Woller and his wife Frieda of Winthrop; sisters Lucy Schandel of Neenah, WI, Shirley Mueller and her husband Gary of Staples; brother-in-law Byron Schmidt and his wife Debbie of Courtland, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by sisters Lorraine Lehmann and Betty Blunt Binger.

Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
