MVL boys take third at Arlington Lions
ARLINGTON - The Minnesota Valley Lutheran boys finished second at the Arlington Lions' Meet Friday.
LeSueur-Henderson was the champion with 135 points, MVL finished with 133 and LeCenter/Cleveland was third with 64. Sibley East was fourth with 60, followed by Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop with 48.
The Chargers had four champions. Josh Danell won the 110-meter hurdles (15.96), the 300 hurdles (42.14) and was second in the high jump (5-10).
Bryce Krohn won the 400 dash (52.03) and was second in the 200 (23.98). Brandon Smith was second in the 100 (12.15) and the long jump (19-4). Jacob Flitter was second in the pole vault with a height of 9-feet-6-inches.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Danell, Josh Hoffman, Fred Evers and Krohn finished first in 3:37.2. The 4x100 team of Cole Brown, Josh Moldstad, Evers and Smith won in 46.16 and the 4x200 relay of Brown, Moldstad, Kyle Bergemann and Micah Dose was second in 1:36.98.
For GFW, the 4x200 relay team of Cody Bode, Josh Boyda, Matt Tessmer and Mike Schwing finished third but set a school record with a time of 1:36.99. Boyda also was second in the 110 hurdles in 15.99.
Schwing was second in the 800 (2:07) and James Albrecht was second in the triple jump (39-1/2).
On the girl's side, LSH won with 122 points, Montgomery-Lonsdale was second with 83 points and LCC finished third with 80. MVL had 73 points, Sibley East finished with 55 and GFW had 29.
GFW's Abby Busch stayed undefeated on the year as she won the shot put and the discus. She won the shot with a throw of 37-10 and discus with a toss of 133-7.
For MVL, Amanda Burk won the 100 hurdles (16.99), Jenny Petersen won the 100 dash (19.98) and Alicia Evenson won the high jump with a jump of 5-feet.
The 4x100 relay team of Evenson, Ashley Spooner, Petersen and Burk won in 52.56. The 4x200 relay of Laura Voigt, Spooner, Burk and Petersen won in 1:53.58 and the 4x400 relay team of Bailey Lange, Spooner, Allison Nass and Ashley Evers won in 4:16.85.
