MLC Early Childhood Center Summer Session

NEW ULM - The Martin Luther College Early Childhood Learning Center provides quality early education for young children, ages 3-5.

It is accepting registrations for the summer session, which runs from May 26 to July 24, and the 2009-10 school year, which begins Aug. 24. Call 233-9105 or visit the center's website at for registration information.

Steuben Society

presentation April 16

NEW ULM - The Steuben Society of America is coming to New Ulm.

The Society is named for American Revolutionary War hero General Friederich Wilhelm von Steuben. It was founded in May of 1919 and, as such, it is one of the oldest National German-American organizations.

The Steuben Society's mission is to educate the public about matters of interest to American citizens of German descent and their families, and to encourage their participation in civic affairs and to perpetuate and enhance the understanding of the contributions made by such citizens to the development of the United States of America.

Those who want to learn more can come hear a presentation by Randall J. Ratje, National Chairman of the Steuben Society of America at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 16 at the New Ulm Public Library. Doors open at 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

NUHS band concert

NEW ULM - The New Ulm High School Band, under the direction of Ann Ayer, will present its Spring Concert on Sunday, April 19, at 2 p.m. in the District Administrative Center Auditorium (old Middle School Building).

Join the 9th-12th grade band in their sinal presentation of the 2008-2009 school year, and for lemonade and cookies following the concert courtesy of the New Ulm Music Boosters.
