SLEEPY EYE - Ellen T. Lux, age 90, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye, MN

Service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye on Monday, March 2, at 10:30 a.m. The clergy will be Msgr. Eugene Lozinski.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery

Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye on Sunday from 3 - 7 p.m. and on Monday from 7:30 to 10 a.m. There will be a parish prayer service at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Ellen Theresa Lux was born on May 28, 1918 in Golden Gate, Home Township, MN, the daughter of Roy & Anna (Weiss) Strong. Ellen married LeRoy F. Lux on May 25, 1938 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye.

Following marriage, they farmed in Leavenworth and Home Townships until moving into Sleepy Eye in 1980. Ellen was President of Golden Gate Cemetery Association, member of Sleepy Eye Senior Citizens and was recognized as Brown County Senior Citizen of the Year. She enjoyed playing cards, quilting and most of all visiting and baking for her family and friends. Ellen traveled from Alaska to Mexico and every state.

She is survived by her sons, Nick (Irene), Clifford (JoAnn), Kenny (Annette), all of Sleepy Eye; daughters, Mary (Mike) Dubois of Elk River, Luella "Corky" (Jim) Reis of Jackson, MN, Marge (Jerry) Weiss of Sleepy Eye; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Lloyd (Eleanor) Strong, of Sleepy Eye; sister, Rosella Kuster of Durant, Iowa; and brother-in-law, George (Mary) Lux of Sleepy Eye.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy Lux; son, Leon "Pete" Lux; brothers, Wilbert Strong, ElRoy Strong; and sister, Evangeline Bishop.
