NEW ULM - A new executive director has been chosen for Healthy Communities/ Healthy Youth of the New Ulm Area.
Mike Brigger will replace Kim Janke who has been named to lead the newly created Underage Substance Abuse Coalition of Brown County.
Brigger has previous experience in working with youth and families. He served as director of youth ministries at Christ the King Lutheran Church of New Ulm from 1993-2002. From January of 2002 until June of this year he was employed as the purchasing agent for Dittrich Specialties of New Ulm while maintaining active involvement with the community's youth.
Mike and his wife Sonja, an elementary teacher for District 88 since 1975, have three grown children, Sara, Marni and Tyler. They have lived in New Ulm since 1974.
In 2009, Healthy Communities/Healthy Youth will celebrate 30 years of "Empowering the Potential and Promise of Youth" in the New Ulm area. In 2009 the agency will become Healthy Communities/Healthy Youth of Brown County, extending positive opportunities and experiences for youth throughout the county.
