GIBBON - Harold Woods Jr., 82, of Gibbon, died Saturday, October 11, 2008, at the Southview Living Center in Gibbon.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 14 at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Kelly Knox will officiate. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the Winthrop American Legion.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Monday and 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Tuesday.

Harold is survived by his wife, Eunice Woods of Gibbon; a daughter, Barbara Yescavage of Springfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory and Beverly Woods of Gibbon, Daniel and Marlene Woods of Fairfax; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Emil Grindvalds of Mound, Carol Olson of New Ulm, Marjorie and Orlando Hillman of Buffalo Lake, Marlys and Charles Schuette of Winthrop; and by brothers and sisters-in-law, Marion and Mavis Woods of Winthrop, Dennis and Margo Woods of Gibbon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twins sisters and a brother, allin infancy; and by his stepmother, Zieta Woods.
Harold Woods Jr. was born Aug. 2, 1926 in Winthrop to Harold A. and Velena (Stiehm) Woods Sr.. He attended country school in Cornish Township, Sibley County. Haroldserved in the United States Army during WWII from 1944 - 1946 in the Philippines. He was united in marriage to Eunice Peterson on September 10, 1947 at the First Lutheran Church in Winthrop.
After marriage they lived in Gibbon where he owned and operated Woods Welding and Repair until he retired in the early 1990s. Harold was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
