Car, 2 Northstar trains collide near Elk River

ELK RIVER, Minn. (AP) — No one was hurt when two Northstar trains and a car collided near Elk River.

Metro Transit officials report that the car was struck by both northbound and southbound trains Tuesday evening.

The Star Tribune ( ) reports trains were being delayed and buses being used to transport commuters.

Further details about the crash weren't available.

Tuesday's crash was the second train-car collision this week. A woman and her infant son escaped injury Monday morning when the car they were in was hit by a Northstar commuter train in Elk River.
