EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota State Patrol is confirming that two people are dead after a police chase and shooting that shut down part of a highway in Eden Prairie.

Highway 212 is still closed between Highway 101 and Dell Road due to the shooting, which happened during the Friday morning rush hour.

MnDOT traffic cameras showed State Patrol troopers and police chased a vehicle eastbound on Highway 212. The cameras showed the suspect's hood was popped up, but the driver kept going.

Cameras showed an officer used a squad car to send the suspect's vehicle into a wall. Someone then got out and fought with police.

The State Patrol confirmed the deaths on its Twitter account. Officials plan to release more information Friday afternoon.
