MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Beatle Project has reached the end of a long and winding road.
The fifth and final installment of the compilation album is out this month. The 13-track album features musicians with Minnesota roots interpreting the songs of the Fab Four.
Among the selections are "Mother Nature's Son," performed by the Grammy-winning Okee Dokee Brothers; The Suburbs doing their version of "Taxman"; and "Day Tripper" by Sonny Knight and The Lakers.
The Denfeld High School Jazz Band rounds out the collection with "Please Please Me."
Like the first four installments, Vega Productions donates all net proceeds to support music education in Minnesota.
Minnesota Beatle Project Vol. 5 will be available in CD, digital and vinyl formats.
A record release party takes place Sunday at First Avenue in downtown Minneapolis.
