MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Minnesota man has reached a plea deal in the death of his infant daughter who died when the family's SUV crashed through the ice on a Lake Minnetonka channel.

KARE-TV reports (http://kare11.tv/1dpzDJY ) 41-year-old Jonathan Markle, of Minnetrista, pleaded guilty Wednesday to criminal vehicular homicide. A Hennepin County judge stayed Markle's 57-month sentence unless he violates the terms of his parole.

Those conditions include continuing alcohol treatment and giving 100 speeches during the next five years about the dangers of drunken driving.

Prosecutors say Markle had a blood alcohol level of .13 two hours after the SUV broke through the ice on Jan. 18. Markle, his wife and their 2-year-old daughter escaped.

Firefighters rescued 8-month-old Tabitha, but she later died at a hospital.
