Sven,

Those 12 million run across a wide spectrum. They are not all amassing large quantities of guns and explosives. Only 20% of our prison population is comprised of sociopaths so you can sleep well tonight.

The real question that has yet to be addressed is a simple "why" ? Why would this kid want to do this ? Where did things go seemingly wrong with his life to lead him down this path ?

This is one case where we might be able to learn some of the whys because the perpetrator was taken out by the police.

Randi: Call me "old school", but I don't give the parents a pass. And, I wouldn't be too quick to lean on the teachers and classmates. It's not their job or responsibility to be psycho-analysts.

Too many parents think that when they shove their kid out the door in the morning it's up to the school to do the parenting.

The parents abdicate their responsibility, and then whine and blame everyone but themselves when something like this happens.

I would bet the family farm that, in this case, there was parental neglect--either passive or active.

About 4% of all U.S. citizens are sociopaths.

That's 12,000,000 people roaming around our country who have no concept of right or wrong and little regard for the feelings or welfare of others.

In a 100, that's four. Depending on the size of a high school, that's about 20 or more.

We shouldn't be surprised. But, I am...still.

It's the same old story..he was a quiet guy, he kept to himself...i"m so shocked!! Gimmee a break. There is just crazy people in this flippin world. I hope this disturbed young man never sees the light of day.
