The new developers will be responsible for the repairs, not the school district.

I thought that the reason for moving out of this school and cramming everyone into the high school was this building has a lot of repair issues and health issues at that for people using it. So, as all those repairs been addressed? Can the school district afford all the repairs? are all the repairs at the high school finished now?

The only way they should be able to have two deeds on the building is if they have completely separate utilities and 2-hour fire separation between each section. Until then, somebody needs to be the owner and somebody else can be the tenant.

It does sound like the mall all over again. It also sounds like the school doesn't want to give up on something that it can not afford. You cant pay for it, so you cant keep it. just build a different building for your offices or move into a cheaper building to put your offices. there has to be a cheaper way place to put your people and just let this building go. In 5-6 years the school is going to be in a major court battle just like the mall and it could be all solved by just breaking your ties now and get out since you cant afford it.

It looks like the same idiots who wrote up the Marketplace Mall wrote up this agreement. Can't have two separate titles on the same building as if one side fails so does the other side. What if doing reconstruction of the main building they end up finding more work than they expected and back out and go bankrupt. Then what happens.

I'm surprised anyone would even want to buy the building with all the stipulations involved! Just sell the building and get it over with!
