Why do people keep talking about this every year? Nobody seems to care that the Eagles play in some of the toughest sections in football, basketball, gymnastics, etc... Schools, players, and coaches don't pick their sections. The MSHSL does and that is it. Be proud of the Eagles Hockey teams as they are one of the top teams in our section consistently year after year. It is not about all the "Ws". It is about teaching young people to work hard, play as a team, and strive to higher levels. These are things they can control. Congrats to the girls and boys!

As long as New Ulm competes in Section 3, they will always have a realistic shot at going to the State Tourney every year. Even in down years. To put this section in perspective, Litchfield LOST 18 of there final 19 hockey games and got a 6 seed in an 11 team section! That is truly unbelievable! I am from St. Peter and our program would love realignment and have us in this section. No, we are not at the level of New Ulm, but at least we might have a shot in this section of reaching the final four and who knows, maybe even a section final. With all this said, its not the coaches, players or kids fault they are in this section. As a conference opponent we were pulling for the Eagles last night!
