It may have been an objective opinion but it was totally uninformed. Does every allocation for funding being considered at the CVB have to go through a public bidding process ?

If you don't like how the money is being spent please offer us some better alternatives on how it should be spent 777777. Better yet, get involved and do something more than simply post on the Journal site.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Even more prevalent than nepotism is the amount of whining that goes on around here.

...understandable. How many applied for this position, and how many were from out of town?? I wasn't "complaining", I was stating an objective opinion. Your head is in the sand if you don't see nepotism in hiring in N.Ulm! Really...

777777 I have been on the CVB for six years and I am the current president. Our job on the CVB is to use tax money from our lodging establishments to generate tourism. We are excited about hiring Flying Buttress Media to make videos that can highlight the city for both tourism and to require sporting events. I hope that you are pleasantly surprised by the promotion we put together. We have been proud of our advertising success in the past and have even receiving a State Tourism Award for our “Germans Have More Fun Campaign.” We take the responsibly of the CVB seriously and every decision in made with the idea of bring more people to town. You mentioned nepotism. If you mean this in the traditional sense, favoritism granted in politics and business to relation, I can’t imagine what you are referring to. The men that we hired are in no way connected to the people that serve on the CVB.

I disagree 777777, this is a great opportunity to bring a talented film maker back to our community to really promote to a younger audience what New Ulm has to offer. We complain about young people leaving and not coming back, and we complain about always tailoring to an older audience; then the chamber tries something new and we complain. Gotta be happy with something!!!!

nepotism at its finest; New Ulm is full of it... Is this really necessary? Cost?
