Equal protection under the law has been eviscerated in this country in favor of better treatment of the politically connected.

Yes. Let's face facts. I, for one, never condemned a whole group.

BUT

If a group of old folks from New Ulm were travelling on the same plane as a group of young men of middle eastern descent, how would you choose who to investigate more thoroughly?

Would you, for example, choose every 15th person going through? Or would you let your mother slide through and focus on someone who more closely fits the description of those engaging in terrorism?

When we start looking at government as an entity that grants us our rights as a favor from the ruling class, then it clears the way to discriminate against whomever our "leaders" choose. It also makes way for the designation of Obamacare as a "right" bestowed upon us by government, and for which we owe them a debt of gratitude, not to mention blood and tax dollars.

When our president says "fundamental transformation" he doesn't simply mean working around the edges and making adjustments. He is changing the meaning of the entirety of our foundational principles.

Puke-you quote the constitution that our rights were endowed by our creator and no the government-so when someone violates your rights do you take them to church? or court? Because if you take them to court your post is moot.

Let's just face facts. We need to round up all Muslims and hold them in internment camps. It worked so well for us in World War II. Just ask any Japanese American. The more things change the more they stay the same.

You guys don't get it. The moment we start pointing fingers at another group and condemn them because they may look different the terrorist have already won. They don't need to set off any bombs to defeat us. We allow our own fear to defeat ourselves.

While I feel sorry for any innocent people getting caught up in this, Who has been blowing themselves and innocent bystanders up?

Yes, these people were returning to the US. Tamerlan Tsarnaev returned to the US too.

Whatever the reason that the USPS is not profitable doesn't matter. The overall business is the judge and its losing money, big time. If the govt cut the benefits of its own company, then all govt "businesses" would get benefit cuts. Instead, they let it all go and continue to prefund or in other words, not manage their business properly. The reason they're NOT profitable is completely irrelevant, the USPS is a bleeding business.

All of the management challenges listed on the U.S. Postal Service website involve having their hands tied by the federal government and the inability to act without the approval of congress.

So tell me again how the federal government is able to effectively operate a business.

Oh, so there is a good reason why they lost $15.9 billion. Well, that changes everything. By the way, you are talking about projected losses and projecting a lie that you have been told. Big government programs DO NOT WORK. This includes a military that goes outside of its bounds to police the world and participate in empire building.

Without the pre-funding of retirement plans, which you completely misunderstand, the postal service would have only lost $5.1 billion. Is that enough research for ya?

Do some research, Puke. It is the prefunding of the retirement that is taking down the postal service. What other company in this country has to fund the retirements of future employees that are in some cases not even born yet?

UPS, DHL, FedEx, SpeeDee, etc. are free to try to compete with the reasonable rates of the US Postal Service. I don't see any of them offering competitive door-to-door letter delivery.

But, I forgot, all government, except a bloated military, is bad. My mistake.

NEWULMITE: I agree; better safe than sorry. I also want to be safe anywhere I go in America. Maybe we should push for legislation that allows the Government to come into our homes at any time for any reason, or no reason at all - to search for weapons. Live in our country. Expect it. By the way, the people in this story were returning to this country, not coming to it.

The premise of our constitution is that our rights were endowed by our creator. The most polar opposite, convoluted version of that is the ethos by which progressives live, that our rights are endowed by government. Therefore, our freedom, liberty, privacy, prosperity and ultimately our success is also endowed by government. It is theirs to give and take, whenever and however they choose. The major difference with the current president is that he is the first to openly tell us to quit questioning it and just accept it. It is "the law of the land" after all. Sit tight, the fundamental transformation is nearing completion. Those who oppose it will be put in their place.

Sorry, that was a typo. What it was supposed to say is a $16 billion loss by the postal service in fiscal 2012. That is only about $50 for every man, woman and child in the country. Not bad!

You are right mnsotn, how could I put the postal service on that list, they only lost $1 billion in the last fiscal year. That is a relative success for a government involved "business".

I notice that the government lovers who are posting on here don't really want to talk about the point of the letter, which is government mistreatment of foreign nationals. It is happening, the agencies that I listed are failing, and our federal government is absolutely out of control and more powerful than our constitution allows. PERIOD!

For one, it is a little known fact that the postal service is just fine, other than Congress is forcing them to fund the retirements of people who aren't even working for them yet, 75 years out. Social Security would be far better off if Congress would quit borrowing from it, or if they wouldn't have temporarily lowered the tax a couple of years ago.

Here is some more "humor" for you. The political class is using the poor as an excuse to enslave the middle class to never ending taxation, regulation and forced programs. It is really funny how the failures of social security, Medicare, the postal service, Amtrak and every other quasi-business activity that the federal government has tried their hand at is not deterring them from taking over our healthcare industry. Maybe this time will be different.

Go ahead now and enlighten us with your lame jokes and even more lame philosophy.

Puke:

Humor? Ya' wanna read humor?

Try:

"Know your place, find your place and stay there, or the political class will beat you back into submission, servitude and compliance."

I get the giggles just typing it out.

Is this some sort of original high school wordsmithing on your part or did you swipe it from a Foxy newsbabe?

Either way, it's terrific stuff. Keep up the good work...and keep us rolling in stitches.

I wouldn't expect a committed progressive to see a problem with government overreach or a president who continuously pits Americans against each other for his own personal gain.

We get it already Svensota. Your humor is lame and your agenda is unwavering. It is sort of like a shortcut to thinking. Thank you for being consistent.

It seems like more and more we white people are being accused of being racists. I see on the tv that there is an all black movie channel and the all black entertainment awards show and there are more but if we white single out ourselves for all white programs we are considered being racists. We white folks are the minority now and have less excess to welfare benefits or daycareprogram because the minorities from down south come up here for free handouts that are meant for us local folks who need help. Our parents and grandparents have been paying into the system for many years so if one of their family members gets in a bind they can ask for assistance.
