I guess the librarian is going to have to put a disclaimer on the fiction section of the library, just in case someone thinks these stories are real.

Gee, If I had "discovered" that footprint in New Ulm I would have suspected that it was made by Hermann himself while he was off his pedestal for repair a few years ago, some dark night. It's about the right size.

Give the person who came up with this marketing idea a raise!! All this free advertisement for New Ulm without a penny being spent. 'Earned Media' is a talent and is one of the best ways to advertise. If anything, I think thy story could have been played out even longer. A recent video of a minor league baseball team's fake marriage proposal went viral. This marketing idea is very similar.
