Growth promotes growth - economics 101. All you that complained about Menards coming to town and what will it do for NU, it promoted growth and positivity to other areas. You want industry - this is the path. Plus, let's not forget the construction jobs - commercial, residential are all hot right now. This is a very positive direction for this town.

It is too bad that construction companies in New Ulm don't pay better and offer better benefits. Contractors in Mankato pay better and don't charge much more.

I can't help but to think that implementation of these 'TIF' restrictions are opening these new apartment developers and the city to major lawsuits for age needless age discrimination. There you go again City Council and Planning Commision, screwing the youth of New Ulm yet again!!

mnsotn: AGREE, but there's an answer. Go to school to become a Journeyman or Foreman and join a Union... if you want decent pay. NU has always paid poorly, and not in just construction. Grateful that our economy is finally, after 6 or more yrs. bouncing back!
