June 13, 2013

Virtually every time a totalitarian regime has subjugated its own people, the process began by warning them dire consequences would result if the government was not permitted to take small steps to......

Turbo75 posted "The last time The Journal described the Obama administration as a "totalitarian regime" was during the health care debate, totalitarian regimes do not allow debate." Remember the meeting of the president with congressional leaders in the beginning of the healthcare debate over various option proposals were being discussed with most of the proposals being answered by stating "I won". "I won" trumps and denies debate of any issue offering compromise for a solution.

IMHO, there is a drastic difference between surveilance and that of data mining. Checking phone records for possible terrorist activities(which appeared to be lost in the Boston Marathon event)is lawful but using the method for other activities would not be lawful. One wonders and some have never asked the question of how many phone calls were made for people to go vote.

Go back and examine the voting in 2001 and 2006 in both the House and Senate where there were huge majorities in favor of this program, well over 60% in both cases. All these same issues were debated back in 2001 and have been monitored by FISA and the Congressional over sight committees since. Where was the outrage in 2001 and again in 2006? There wasn't any just like there wasn't any when the Patriot Act was almost unanimously signed into law. It is only now when it is the Black, Socialist, Muslim Foreign President is in Office that it is a problem. The hypocrisy sickens me. Cheer up though, I want you all to take a deep breath and relax. The President only has roughly another 1300 days left in office and then you can all quit worrying about the Black, Socialist, Muslim, Foreign President and start ******** about the Liberal, Socialist, First Female President that we have in the White House. Won’t that be fun for everyone!

Prism is out growth from Inter Pole’s Circles program that has been around since the 1980’s. Circles shows the relationship between individuals based on a common action. For example the police know Dick is drug dealer. Using Dick’s phone number they track ever number phone that Dick calls or ever number phone that calls Dick’s number phone. Then they add all of these phone numbers to Dick’s circle. Then you setup a circle for each phone numbers in Dick’s circle and start tracking phone numbers for each of these circles. If the same number from one circle shows up under any other individual’s circle. That individual is a "person of interest". Under “U.S. Law” the Justice Department MUST get a court order to review the contents of the individual commutations. I know because I worked on Circles in 1985

The last time The Journal described the Obama administration as a "totalitarian regime" was during the health care debate, totalitarian regimes do not allow debate. As a matter of fact, a totalitarian regime would never allow the editorial in the first place. Please stick to local stories such as Hwy. 14, Schells beer and saving horse farms.

Did the Journal just call for revolution? Law enforcement agencies have been able to pull phone records without a warrant for years. They do it often, and the major cell providers make a lot of money from it. I'm not as informed on the subject as I should be, but it seems that that's just as bad as what the government did. No one makes a fuss about that. While I am strongly opposed to what the government did, I do not feel that they are setting up a totalitarian state with Obama as president for life, as this article hints at.
