April 17, 2013

I was having a beer with a younger friend. A fellow walked by who I wanted to compliment for something. “Hey, good job!” My right hand went up to make a clenched fist salute, a power fis....

...or not enough young families to balance it out. Menards is nice, but we need good paying jobs that demand college degrees. Mankato's industrial park by the future Walmart distribution center is adding many good paying jobs to their economy. All the while, New Ulm is excited that Hardee's is coming to town.

what in the heck does that have to do with a wonderfully written article? As I've said in the past if you are so disenchanted with New Ulm, don't let the door hit you where the sun doesn't shine.

This is a very enjoyable article. It is not about too many senior citizens, not enough young people, the economy & jobs, or about Hardee's coming to New Ulm.

It is about the author's take on where he's been, where he is now, & where he will be in life. It is a refreshing piece of writing, one we can all identify with, as we go through the aging process. For believers, the spiritual touch is a nice addition.

Too long; didn't read - yunosmart? You really should read it before commenting. You might have a different perspective, then again, maybe not.

I enjoyed it thoroughly - the humor, the seriousness, & being able to identify with a journey we have all embarked on. Thanks to the author.
