While I believe that this was an over site (giving the benefit of the doubt) I do think that someone in a previous article did raise a good question: Was your name not on your ballot and if not, were you not curious as to why your name wasn't on your ballot?

Regardless of what happened, I would like to say thank you for your service and dedication to your community and its youngest citizens. It is often a thankless job. Hopefully, you can get the legalities sorted out and run again in the future.

This whole thing seems silly to me. The fact that her children went to District 88 means more than the gps location of her house, in my opinion.

The only apologies in this case should be FROM Dist 88 TO Ms Hulke. The only thing she is guilty of is caring about the education of her children and all students in our area.

Looks like Ms. Hulke just plum forgot that she filled out OPEN ENROLLMENT forms for at least one of her kids, and then chooses not to do it for another!?!?! This should have been the first hint that she was not in the district.

This is not the person that ISD88 needs now or ever again. Sounds like she does what ever she wants without following the rules.... and before you say the district lines are confusing... look at your tax statement.

Right . . . because everyone is chomping at the bit to join the school board on false pretenses. When the school district says you are eligible to run, you trust them. She is exactly what is needed on the school board. Wanting to take on a position with the board when it is struggling and facing hard decisions while raising small children not to mention working speaks enough for her charactor. Throwing stones and insults speaks plenty for yours.

The only problem with Ms. Hulke serving on the board with out living in the district is she doesn't pay taxes to our schools. I agree her heart is probably in the right spot and she has good intentions , but representation needs to be by the taxpayers, otherwise you could have someone from the cities who wishes to send their kids here deciding what how our tax dollars get spent. I really don't feel we should be moving school district lines just for one person also, this lays the grounds for someone wanting the lines moved so they are in a cheaper district.

Sadly, how is it any different than out of state PAC money buying off our politicians or funding their campaigns. I'm not saying that she should continue to serve, just stating that outside influence is much more prevalent in other areas.
