Question: what's been the top media covered issues at our state and national capital this session?? Gun control and gay marriage. Neither of these build an economy, grow jobs, increase middle-class household incomes, etc. I thought the legislators that were grandstanding last summer for middle class were going to fight for us? I know I haven't forgotten the grandstanding-meanwhile taxes increase (on us) and services increase on non-middle class groups. Who did you vote for??

This is such a huge part of our budget, it needs to be cut. JReader is tired of working until April to pay for this.

Polly and Care-Mike T seems like he is a person who might be one of those to donate, nice job of trashing him, all he was saying was there are other resources that might step up - you just did your cause a disservice.

I'm on your side. However, disability services are not a hot topic - early education is. The feds and media pick and choose their hot, re-election topics and go after them and pull from other programs to help their own re-election campaign by spending on the hot topics. However, the majority voted for these folks that are making these decisions, so one can only look at their own voting record-expanding services across the board, increased taxes, something was going to give.

MT not only has the answer to who is willing to donate their money, He has the answer to everything! Apparently He doesn't have to worry about who will be taking care of Him when He is elderly and frail and unable to spew His wisdom on all of mankind or toilet Himself. Therefore He must have tons of money that He is wise enough to decide who needs what and good-hearted enough to charitably donate His own money to those causes! Right?

MichaelT, since you have the answer of who is willing to lend their support please enlighten me who I call to send the company I work for that has nearly 1500 employees who haven't had a raise in over 5 years that can give us caregivers of people with disabilities a raise. What I don't get is it is OUR tax dollars that pays for my wages and all the caregivers. Why don't we have the right to say give these people a raise. We need citizen to stand up to our legislatures and say NO MORE! 5 years with no pay increase is long enough. I knew going into this career that I wouldn't become rich but come on why can't I make something worth while. When I say worth while I mean something where starting wage isn't below $10 an hour. So when you can get back to me on who I can call to give me a raise outside of the government I will be letting everyone know that we will stand up and say NO MORE!
