SouthPoint Federal celebrates membership milestone and
SLEEPY EYE — SouthPoint Federal Credit Union (SouthPoint), a financial cooperative serving those that live, work, worship, attend school, or have a legal business entity within Redwood, Renville or Brown counties of Minnesota recently surpassed the 10,000-member mark. CEO Richard Nesvold states “We have been anxiously working toward this goal, as it shows what a company that started during the great depression can grow to become, based strictly upon the thrift and credit needs of local individuals and businesses.” SouthPoint currently has $189 million in assets and $130 million in loans. SouthPoint was also recently ranked fourth in the nation for its peer group for “Return to the Member” in Callahan & Associates’ Return of the Member (ROM) Index as of March 31, 2008. SouthPoint achieved a 99.55 percentile rating in the ROM, which considers three main components: Return to Savers, Return to Borrowers and Member Service Usage.
