Weather causes postponements
Monday’s weather forced the postponement and cancellation of many of the local sporting events. Monday’s wrestling quadrangular at New Ulm High School was cancelled and will not be made up. The Sleepy Eye/Red Rock Central boys basketball game was postponed and no make-up date has been set. The New Ulm Cathedral at Mankato Loyola boys basketball game was rescheduled to a 4:30 p.m. start Saturday, Feb. 27. The Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s vs. Red Rock Central girls basketball game was also postponed.

MLC women upset Northwestern
ST. PAUL — Erica Babinec scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Martin Luther College women’s basketball team to a 71-61 win over Northwestern College Saturday in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference actio.

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s had four players in double figures as it defeated Truman 91-76 Saturday.
Jordan Osmonson led the way with 18 points, followed by Kansas Adams (15), Sean Mathiowetz (14) and Adam Sellner (13).
