A couple of comments on Letters To The Editor
1.) Bad behavior all around: In a letter to the editor on Friday, Feb. 10, a woman from Springfield starts out, “Recent letters and comments have described liberals and democrats as without a moral core.”
“We march today for the moral core of this nation against which our new president is waging a war,” actress America Ferrera told the Washington crowd. That is where I got the moral core. I did not say liberals and Democrats don’t have moral core. If you are going to quote me, quote me on what I said, not something I did not say. Here is what I said: “You have to have moral core in order to lose it.”
Then the writer continues about candidate Donald Trump using foul language at his campaign rallies. President Trump isn’t the only president to use curse words. Former Vice-president Joe Biden, after Obama signed his Affordable Care Act, was overheard on an open mic saying, “this is a big F–ing deal!” President Obama has used a few curse words and made racist statements. One that I remember the most is when he was in California, he was overheard on an open mic saying he is getting along fine with the people in the east coast, the west coast, but he is having trouble with the people in the Midwest calling them “angry old white people who cling to their guns and religion.” That is where I came up with signing my letters to the editor,” angry old white guy from the Midwest who clings to his guns and religion.” I don’t approve using curse words from any politician or any person using the F bomb.
2) Letter to the Editor on Feb. 9, “Thanks for running relevant news” — “I write this letter in response to the gentleman who is concerned The Journal may be showing bias by printing a front page story about the Women’s March on Washington and articles about the March for Life and Vice-president Pence’s speech at the March on page 2.” She writes that The Journal covered the Women’s March on the front page should not be a surprise. “The fact that they covered the Pro-life March but didn’t include it until page 2 should not be a surprise. The Journal is responsible for events that are relevant.” The writer thinks that the so-called actress and so-called entertainer that gave speeches at the Women’s March is relevant and front page news but the Pro-life March with the Vice-president speaking for the first time at a Pro-life March isn’t relevant enough to be on the front page? I noticed the person that wrote, “Thanks for running relevant news” and signed her name also signed a Letter to the Editor entitled “Opposition to Trump policies.”
The liberal Democrats will never get over the fact that Donald Trump out-smarted both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and won the election fair and square. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.
I will sign this letter as angry old white guy from the Midwest who clings to his guns and religion!
