Rigged elections must be investigated

To the editor:

Most of us were skeptical when Donald Trump claimed nearly two months before the presidential election that the election was rigged. The assumption most of made was that he was claiming it would be rigged against him. Later the NSA reported there was a Russian plan to disrupt the election by disrupting the vote total reporting. And now Mr. Trump is claiming there were millions of fraudulent votes cast, and is assuming they were cast for Clinton since she had almost two million more popular votes than he had.

For nearly 250 years this nation has prided itself in the peaceful transition of power and has trusted the election process (even though many dislike the electoral process we use). Without a recount of the entire system, all 50 states, and a thorough investigation of fraudulent vote claims, a cloud of suspicion and distrust will hang over the Trump Presidency. He is already disliked by many and now there is an added air of suspicion that he may not be the legitimate President. If our nation is to move forward, we must have faith in a fair and honest election system.
