Thumbs Up/Down

Keeping roads safe

This is the time of year when weary homeowners look at the latest snowfall and think, “Should I shovel? It will just melt in a couple of days anyway.”

Those who plow our streets and highways don’t have that luxury. They are out there in the midst of the storm, working to clear the roads so we can travel on them, even when the no-travel advisories are out.

People may grumble a little about the plows not showing up on their streets very early, or about snow being shoved up on their driveways, but down deep, we all know that things would be a lot worse without the street and highway crews. They deserve a lot of thanks, as the winter winds down, for their dedicated service.

New Ulm Farm Show

The 37th annual New Ulm Farm City Hub Club Farm Show is taking place this weekend. It’s a great opportunity to wander around indoors, look at some great exhibits and products and get in the mood for spring.

Thanks to the Hub Club for putting on this great show every year.
