Phyllis Domeier

NEW ULM — Phyllis Domeier, 93, of New Ulm died Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm city cemetery. Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 – 10 a.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, NORTH CHAPEL, in New Ulm. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Jean Mohelski of Fontana, CA; son, Rick (Amy) Domeier of Chester Springs, PA; grandchildren, Stacy Thacker, Nicholas Domeier, Joshua Domeier; great granddaughter, Julia Moreno; sisters, Lorraine Christle, Mary Pischke both of CA, Margaret (Charles) Forster of New Ulm. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lester Domeier; grandson, Jason Mohelski; sister, Elaine Roiger; brothers, Jim and Chuck Niehoff.

Phyllis Eleanor Niehoff was born on June 16, 1925 in St. James to Lawrence and Louise (Boor) Niehoff. On March 18, 1945 she was united in marriage to Lester Domeier in Kenosha, WI. She began her career at Pink’s Clothing Store in New Ulm. For over twenty five years, she worked at Madsen’s/Randall’s Grocery in New Ulm where she became office manager. Known for her engaging smile, she enjoyed her card club, her pottery class, her close bond with her four sisters, and volunteering for her Church. She made the best sauerkraut and dumplings on earth. Phyllis was a member of the Christian Mothers Society and a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.
