Ardis ‘Lorraine’ Schulte

COMFREY — Ardis ‘Lorraine’ Schulte, age 93 of Comfrey, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Sturm Funeral Home in Comfrey and will continue on Saturday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey, on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 10:30 am.

The clergy will be Father Andy Michels.

Inturnment will be at the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Comfrey.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Comfrey.

Ardis ‘Lorraine’ Schulte was born January 20, 1925, at Mountain Lake, MN to Dick R. and Helen (Jenkins) Walters. She went to country school District 47 through eighth grade then attended and graduated from Mountain Lake High School. Lorraine married Florian J. Schulte on February 15, 1947, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey. The couple lived in the Darfur, Wells, and Comfrey areas, settling in Comfrey in 1966. She worked as a teacher’s aide, waitress, and sales clerk. Lorraine also assisted at Sturm Funeral Home. She was active at church, sang in the church choir for many years, and was a member of St. Paul’s CCW where she served as President. Lorraine received the Bishop’s Medal of Service. She was active in community affairs, the Comfrey Hospital Auxiliary where she served as treasurer for 20 years, the Comfrey Legion Auxiliary for many years, delivered Meals-on-Wheels, and in the St. John’s Lutheran Home Auxiliary. Lorraine also played in the Hee Haw Band providing music for parades and nursing homes and was Santa Claus at Christmas time. Her hobbies included golfing, bowling, ceramics, crocheting, and other crafts. She loved baking and always gave delicious rolls and tea rings to many. Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Many were blessed by her kindness, love, and generosity.

Lorraine Schulte died Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 93.

She is survived by daughters- Kathleen (Bruce) MacMaster of St. James, Nancy St. Sauver of Granite Falls, Patricia Schulte of Springfield, and Jean (Rory) Kopischke of Comfrey; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother Robert Walters of Mankato; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Dick and Helen Walters; husband Florian J. Schulte; brother Donald Walters; step-sisters- Edna Statlander and Violet Ott; and grandsons- Christopher MacMaster and Kyle Kopischke.
