Heather is survived by her parents; Tim and Lorie Giefer; sister, Clarissa Giefer of rural New Ulm; her grandparents, Ron and Donna Giefer of Nicollet; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ira and Dorothy Kahle.

Heather Marie Giefer was born August 26, 2001 in New Ulm to Tim and Lorie (Kahle) Giefer. She attended school at Nicollet Public High School. She had an unmatched love and compassion for all animals. From the small cats on the farm, to her show beef cattle, or cherished horses, Heather simply had a way with all animals. Heather was also a talented artist. She showed this love of art through her drawings, photography, and music. Heather had a love for sports such as volley ball, basketball, horseback riding, and figure skating. There really wasn’t a lot that Heather could not do. So many wonderful memories were made with friends over the years while she participated in these activities. She was active in 4-H where she held the position of secretary and vice president. Heather was a member of three horse judging teams, 4-H, FFA and the Arabian Horse Association. She was a member of the Fields of Grace Lutheran Church youth group, and the New Ulm Figure Skating Club where she participated in seven Ice Shows. Although her passing seems so sudden and unexplained, her energetic, compassionate, fun loving heart will never be forgotten. Cherished memories of Heather will forever stay in the minds of all who knew her best.
