Beatrice (Bea) Hanson

NEW ULM — Beatrice (Bea) Hanson, age 77 of New Ulm died Friday, October 13th 2017.

Time of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday,

October 21, 2017 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.

Beatrice Ann Hanson was born August 5, 1940 to Bennett and Martha (Kelm) Hanson in St. Peter, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at the Norseland Evangelical Lutheran Church, Norseland, Minnesota. She attended the Norseland Christian Day School, graduated from St. Peter High School in 1958 and received her Jr. Accounting Diploma from Mankato Commercial College in Mankato, Minnesota in 1970.

Bea was employed by ADC Products in St. Peter, Minnesota, Bob Johnson Accounting and Bob Dittrich Merchandising in New Ulm, Minnesota. She was employed by the 3M Company as an Advanced Materials Control Clerk in New Ulm, Minnesota for 25 years taking pre-retirement leave in December of 1996. Bea also worked during the summer months part-time for MN Valley Action Council at the DNR Region 4 Wildlife Office in New Ulm, Minnesota from June 1997 to 2000 and during the winter months for Best Western Superstition Springs in Meza, AZ. Continued at Best Western in Meza, AZ until 2008. Bookkeeper at Rancho Vista Mobile Park until April 2010.

Bea was an avid reader, loved the outdoors, watching Softball, and traveling to Arizona.

Bea Hanson is survived by brother, Bernie (Corrine Bergerson) Hanson of Norwood Young America, brother-in-law Duane Olmanson of Pipestone and sister-in-law Lorraine Hanson of Northfield; three Godchildren, Dawn Bergacker of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Brenda L. Davis of St. Peter and Greta Petry of Parker, Colorado; ten nieces and nephews and twenty-two great-nieces and nephews and dedicated friend, Marlys Matties.

Bea was preceded in death by her father, Bennett in 1982, her mother, Martha in 1994, her brother, James in 1994 and her sister Marilyn in 2015.

Bea’s wishes were encouraging memorials to Norseland Lutheran Church.
