Lillian is survived by her daughter, Rita (Mike) Schugel of New Ulm; her son, Glenn (Catherine) Rasmussen of New Ulm; grandchildren, Maria Schugel, Peter Schugel, Kayla Rasmussen, Alaina (Joe) Battaglia, Alec Rasmussen; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford in 1988; her parents; her sisters, Wilma Hulke in infancy, and Sylvia (Richard) Koehler; and her brothers, Willard (Irma) Hulke and Harvey (Ardella) Hulke.
Lillian Ann Hulke was born on August 1, 1920 in Courtland Township to Emil & Edna (Bode) Hulke. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. She met the love of her life, Cliff Rasmussen, while working at Muesing Drug in Nicollet. Lillian and Cliff were united in marriage on September 25, 1951 at church. Lillian loved being a mother and home maker to Cliff and her two children, and later worked many years at Herbergers. In her free time, she enjoyed going fishing, knitting, crocheting baby caps and volunteering at the hospital. She was an avid Twins fan and rarely missed watching their games or talking to her friends about how they were doing. Lillian’s church family was very important to her, where she spent time as a member of the Dorcus Society and volunteering in various capacities. Lillian will be remembered fondly for her rose bushes, which she often used to bring flowers to others.
