Raymond Lee Achman
BRAINERD (formerly New Ulm) — Raymond Lee Achman, age 54 of Brainerd (formerly New Ulm) died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 10, 2017 in a boating accident, doing what he loved most, fishing.
Funeral service will be 12 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home -SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. Monsignor John A. Richter will lead the prayer service, and committal will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery Columbarium.
Visitation will be from 9-12 pm on Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.

Ray is survived by his mother, Eileen Achman of New Ulm; sisters, Shari (Steve) Franta of New Ulm, Maria (Kris) Schneeberg of New Ulm, Anna (Steve) Upton of Bloomington, Margie Corcoran of New Ulm; brothers, Joe (Lori) Achman of New Ulm, Charlie (Paula) Achman of New Ulm, twin brother, Bob Achman of New Ulm, Lee Achman of Waseca; and many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Cinder.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Achman.
Raymond Lee Achman was born September 22, 1962 along with his twin brother, Bob in New Ulm to Ervin and Eileen (Hofmann) Achman. Ray, along with his family spent his early years growing up in Searles, enjoying small town life and its benefits. Times were spent playing baseball, hunting, and fishing with family and friends. Ray had a passion for the outdoors spending most of his free time hunting and fishing, and watching the Twins and Vikings. He was a dedicated employee of Sherwin Williams for 34 years, recently in Brainerd. Ray was a 1981 graduate of New Ulm High School. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
