Anna M. Hacker

NEW ULM — Anna M. Hacker, age 90, of New Ulm, died Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society in Winthrop.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette. Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-7 pm on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. The visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church in Lafayette.

Anna is survived by her three daughters, Karen (Ron) Domeier, New Ulm, Lois (friend Jerry) Stow, Portland, OR, and Janet (Vince) Tougas, Edmunds, WA; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton in 1989; her parents; sisters, Clara Schroepfer, Amelia Heitzer, Catherine Johnson, Martha Weber, Angeline Weber, Bertha Muehlbauer and their spouses; and brothers, Edmund, Florian, Leonard, and Clement Sellner and their spouses.

Anna M. Sellner was born on April 29, 1926 in Sleepy Eye to Christopher & Mary Ann (Schloegel) Sellner. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Sleepy Eye in 1943. On May 17, 1948, Anna was united in marriage to Anton Hacker at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple was blessed with three daughters. In addition to being a farm wife, Anna worked for twenty years as a Dietary Supervisor at the Good Samaritan Society, and thirty plus years at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. She also was a volunteer driver for senior citizens in Nicollet County. Anna was a member of the St. Gregory CCW and the Catholic United.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
