James ‘Jim’ Weilage
SLEEPY EYE — James “Jim” Weilage, 84, of Sleepy Eye, passed away Saturday morning, January 21, 2017, at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 10 to 11 am at the Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. Services will be held at the Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11 am. The clergy will be Pastor Nathanael Mayhew. Interment will be at the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Lunch will be served at noon following graveside services. Sturm Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.
Jim Weilage was born May 3, 1932 to August and Viola (Wotschke) Weilage in Sleepy Eye, MN. He lived on the same farm and farmed the land his whole life. Jim was baptized and confirmed at St Johns Ev. Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. He attended school at St Johns Lutheran School in Sleepy Eye. Jim lived and farmed with his parents and three brothers Marvin, Donald, Charles and sister, Janice. After the passing of his parents and brothers, he continued to live and farm the land. His love was his horse, dogs and driving his gator around the farm with his dog at his side.
Jim is survived by his sister, Janice (Del) Lundstrom, nieces and nephews, Lori (Mike) Weiss and family, Ruth Peterson and her family, Colette (Chad) Bickel and family, Kim (Mary) Weilage and family, Duane Robben and his family and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Viola, brothers, Marvin Weilage, Donald (Bernice) Weilage and Charles (Odena) Weilage, niece, Denise Robben and nephew, Kevin Peterson.
