NEW ULM – Florence Saffert, 76, of New Ulm died Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Friday, October 7, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Father Germain Rademacher celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 9 10:30 AM Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. The Christian Mother’s Society will pray the rosary at 4 PM Thursday at the Cathedral.

Florence is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Dan “Harry”) Wurtzberger of Sleepy Eye, Becky (Louie) Forst of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Sandy (Stacy) Tessmer of New Ulm, Kristine (Carla Anderson) Saffert of New Ulm, Linda (Bob) Courteau of Meadowlands; a son, Darren “Joe” (Lori) Saffert of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and by her brothers, Gary (Phyllis) Domeier and Randy (Jean) Domeier all of New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis Saffert; and a granddaughter, Miranda Wurtzberger.
Florence Ann Domeier was born October 2, 1940 in New Ulm to Melvin and Marion (Hillesheim) Domeier. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School. Florence was united in marriage to Dennis Saffert on August 9, 1958 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. After marriage they resided in New Ulm where Florence was employed at 3M for 35 years until her retirement. Florence enjoyed her puppies, bingo, traveling, camping, motorcycling and music but she especially loved spending time with her family.
She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and the Christian Mother’s Society.
