Brian D. Boomgarden, 34, 219 N. Jefferson St., New Ulm, was convicted Monday of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. A terroristic threats charge was dismissed. He was sentenced to 90 days in the Brown County Jail, 87 days stayed for two years supervised probation and fined $380. He may complete three days STS in lieu of jail, must be completed within 90 days. Conditions include paying restitution left open for 30 days from date of sentencing, successfully complete an anger management program, follow any recommendations, may receive credit towards out-of-pocket expenses.

Hector M. Pedraza Jr., homeless, was charged Monday with fifth-degree drug possession-not small amount of marijuana. According to a Statement of Probable Cause, New Ulm Police received information on April 15, that Pedraza, with an active arrest warrant, was staying at the Econolodge in New Ulm. Police went to the motel, knocked on his door and were invited in by Pedraza. Police saw a digital scale common used to weigh controlled substances on a night stand. Pedraza acknowledged his arrest warrant and showed police two small, zip lock baggies that were in his pocket that appeared to contain methamphetamine.

Police got a search warrant signed by a judge and searched the motel room, finding white residue on a mirror and razor blade, two glass pipes that smelled of burned marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia. The two bags and contents weighed 2.7 grams total. The substances tested positive for methamphetamine.
